Karmic astrology is the science of discerning as accurately as possible, through the positions of planets in your Natal Chart, the reasons why you are the way you are and why you act the way you do. Karmic astrology also provides you with guidance to resolve past life situations so as to wipe your slate clean and make room for more positive karma in your current lifetime. |

Aquarius is the "I KNOW" sign of the Zodiac. If you came into this incarnation with the Sun in Aquarius, knowledge, particularly of the abstract kind, was low on your list of priorities in many of your past lives. At the top of your list was being popular: You wanted lots of friends and potential lovers, admirers to adore you and pay you lots of compliments. Practical matters, of course, inevitably interfered with your social life, and you were forced to go to work - though you still were the one that most people looked to for advice and information. Eventually, you learned that acquiring information enticed more people into your circle of admirers. Though it still was not your favorite task, you began to pay attention and obtain some knowledge that increased your practical skills - and attracted even more admiration. As the centuries passed, however, you eventually learned that knowledge was valuable for its own sake. Your thirst for it gradually increased, until you reached the point where you developed a plethora of intellectual interests. Now, in the present life, those interests are, to a significant degree, what's driving you - and so it should be. Knowledge is power, perhaps even more so than personal charisma. In this life, you're meant to make the most of it. So don't take it to heart when others ask why, of all things, are you so fascinated with Chinese pottery, snake charmers, or astrology? Whatever you choose to learn, there's a reason for it. Follow your heart. |

With your Moon in fervent Sagittarius, your unconscious memories reflect ancient lifetimes in which you first became aware of the world around you. While everyone around you concentrated on finding food and fire, you were noticing the way the stars moved across the sky. While others were preparing food and sweeping out the nest, you noticed that by smearing certain substances on the walls of the cave, you made it prettier. You may have been actively involved in the development of commerce, of the arts, and perhaps even of the most ancient of alphabets. And you never stopped. When you finished making one discovery, you looked for another. As you evolved, you moved on to bigger and better things. Instead of painting the walls of caves, you designed elaborate temples for your gods. Instead of scratching symbols on rocks that would eventually become the alphabet, you wrote extensive treatises on philosophical subjects. In each subsequent incarnation, you reverberated to these unconscious memories, and were inspired by them to move on to more extensive and significant discoveries. Yet often you were involved with so many exciting fields, your conscious memory wasn't equipped to deal with them all. Too often, you learned one thing, and as soon as you moved on to the next, your recollection of the first became hazy, and could have been forgotten completely. This could persist into the present life. The best way to make sure that you don't forget is to become a compulsive record keeper, like your polar opposite: eloquent Gemini. |

Saturn in Scorpio indicates that the individual was, in more than one lifetime, a wealthy person whose properties may have included land, farms, fields, palaces, and lots of gold and silver. In your earliest incarnations, you may have been a slaveholder who regarded these servants as little more than property, of less value than animals. Karmically, some subsequent incarnations may have cast you in the role of beggar or slave, and so unconsciously you know what it's like to be both rich and poor, whatever your status in the present life. At some point in your path toward enlightenment, you made a decision that you were never going to be poor again, and so you continued to exploit the land, water, and other resources to make certain that you and your family would never be homeless or hungry. Yet, in a few lifetimes, you may have inherited wealth, and because you didn't work for it, you didn't value it as much as you should have. Now, in the present lifetime, you've worked very hard for your money, and have saved or invested as much as you could to make sure that the future is secure. It's very likely that you're fairly well off - or at least have enough to live on should the economic tide turn against you. But it's time to turn your energy away from acquiring wealth and more toward using your innate power to transform the world. If you have time on your hands, think about it! |

With the South Node in Cancer, your past-life history might reveal that you've rarely traveled very far beyond the place where you were born. Perhaps you were a farmer, caring meticulously for his own corner of the world; or the local herb woman who spent most of her time developing medicines and healing the sick. Whatever your circumstances, you loved your home - not just the structure, but also the land, the people, the surrounding countryside. Though you admired the local nobles and religious leaders who lived opulent lives, you didn't envy them, but were more than happy with what you had. And when you were a child, you couldn't wait to grow up so that you could have a home and family of your own. Now, in the present life, you're meant to look beyond the boundaries of familiarity and live a more cosmopolitan life. The first experience of the so-called "outside world" may be exhilarating, and you may dig in eagerly in order to start making all your dreams a reality. However, once a few failures hit you, you might be tempted to run back to where life is secure, where comfort awaits - and where your family isn't above saying, "I told you so." Some return to the security of home, but to others, it's better to trudge on and continue overcoming obstacles until you have found your true path. It can help to remember that when you do that, you've created your own home. Make the most of it. |

With the North Node in Capricorn, you're discovering new possibilities, more evolved ways to use your willingness to work. You're being initiated into a new cycle of effort, a way to advance yourself spiritually that is only being discovered in this near-enlightened age. In esoteric astrology, Capricorn is said to be the key to initiation, and thus to enlightenment. In prior incarnations, you realized early that the purpose of pleasure was to quiet the mind. All earthly delights - from food to strong drink to meditation to music to sex - for one brief moment quieted the chatter in your brain, and allowed the light of the Divine to seep in. In your quest for earthly security, however, you often lost sight of your need for inner peace, allowing the noises in your head to overwhelm your serenity nearly every waking minute of every day. In later incarnations, you concentrated more on closeness, on love, family, and friendship. This also brought peace of mind - until the task of keeping your family secure again necessitated allowing your thoughts to babble on. Now, in the first glimmerings of the Aquarian Age, all the material advantages sought by Capricorn still exist, but there are also vast spiritual possibilities. Once you have attained the material security promised by the sign of Capricorn, you're free to pursue a different kind of ascent: You move from stumbling up the ladder of success to climbing Jacob's ladder into the realm of higher awareness. Open your eyes and look. A wonderful world awaits. |

Perhaps the most important lesson you can learn in the course of studying your karmic influences is that, no matter what your life circumstances, you are never totally isolated. You are part of the vast karmic web of being that is Life on Earth, and you cannot avoid touching other beings on that web. Studying your past life history, healing the negative effects of your karma, and building on your triumphs will help you evolve into a wiser, more confident, happier person in this lifetime - and beyond! |
